Online activity like watching videos on the YouTube can easily burn much of your time. If you would like to control the time you spend on the YouTube, you can now do it with the new YouTube’s Take a Break Reminder. YouTube will automatically trigger a message to remind you to take a break after the amount of time of continuous watching video on the YouTube is reached. Right now, this feature allows you to set a break reminder frequency for every 15, 30, 60, 90, or 180 minutes. Also, it is worth mentioning that this feature is only available on the iPhone and Android smartphones.

Step 1: Open the YouTube app on your iPhone or Android smartphones.

Step 2: When the YouTube app is loaded, tap on your profile icon which is located at the top right of the screen.

Step 3: Select Settings from the menu that appears.

Step 4: Tap on the General.

Step 5: Tap on the option Remind me to take a break to enable this feature and a window will appear asking how often you would like to set the reminder frequency. You may choose the reminder frequency from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 180 minutes.

YouTube will remind you to take a break when the watch duration matched the reminder frequency. You can choose to adjust the reminder interval or dismiss the reminder to continue with your video. Do take note that when you pause or close a video, the reminder timer will be paused too. Also, if you exit the YouTube app, logout, switching accounts, or pausing the video for more than 30 minutes, the reminder timer will be reset.
