How to Turn Off Windows Update in Windows 10

Windows update is a feature in the Windows operating system that is used to automatically download and install the latest updates to our computer. Method 1: Disable the Windows Update Service

Press on the Windows logo key and R key on your keyboard at the same time. This will open the Run command. Type services.msc in the open box and click on OK button.

This will open the Services window. Scroll down until you see the Windows Update. Double click on it and change the Startup type to Disabled. Then click Stop button under service status. Click Apply and OK button to apply the changes. Restart your computer so that the changes can take effect.

To apply this method, click on the search icon in the bottom left of your screen. Type wi-fi on the search box and select Change Wi-Fi Settings under the Best Match.

Select your current Wi-Fi connection under Wi-Fi. Under Metered Connection, toggle the Set as metered connection to turn on the switch.
