Gmail is a free email service provided by Google and there are a lot of great features and settings in Gmail that taking care of almost each and every need of ours. Apart from sending and receiving emails, you can also chat with your friends and family in real time via with the Gmail’s Chat, an instant messaging feature that integrated into your Gmail account. While Gmail’s Chat is useful, many of the people prefer to use other third party instant messaging like WhatsApp over Gmail’s Chat. Log in to your Gmail account as you normally would and click on the Settings icon located at the top-right of the window.
From the menu that appears, click on the Settings option.
Click on the Chat heading located at the top and select Chat Off. Save the changes.
